Senior Associate Rector for Adult Christian Formation

The Rev. Dr. William W. Rich, a graduate of Williams College, Yale Divinity School, and the recipient of a Ph.D. in Psychiatry and Religion from Union Theological Seminary, came to Trinity Church from St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where he served as Interim Rector. He has served at several other Atlantic region churches as an Interim Associate or Rector, including Christ Church Bronxville, NY, St. David's in Kinnelon, NJ, Church of St. Luke-in-the-Fields in New York, and Grace Episcopal in Elkridge, MD.

Long an educator, Bill served as Chaplain to Goucher College for 12 years, and has a distinguished career as a professor of Philosophy, Religion, and Psychology. Since 1999, he has been on the faculty of the Blanton-Peale Graduate Institute of New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New York City, training pastoral psychotherapists. About his role as Senior Associate Rector, Bill says, "To focus on forming parishioners for the work of Christian living is a wonderful gift. I am excited to be able to concentrate on not just educating minds, but also growing souls, through my own teaching, creating opportunities for us to teach each other, and inviting distinguished speakers and teachers to visit."
