On the desolate coast of Denmark live two beautiful daughters of a clergyman who preached salvation through self-denial. The daughters sacrifice their youth and passion and keep alive his teachings for many years after his death. Radical change occurs when a French refugee comes to town and serves up a gourmet French meal to the townspeople at the home of the daughters. A miracle of grace results. The theological and spiritual implications of the film are truly profound, and afterwards we will discuss these. The film is beautifully shot with many scenes reminiscent of Renaissance genre paintings. In Danish with English subtitles. Coffee and snacks will be available. Sponsored by the Hardy Perennials.
