Here's what students and staff have to say about TEEP:

"We're like a family here. If we have a problem, we talk it out. Redemption - talk, learn, forgive. And you're not here to be popular or to make good grades - you're just here to grow and learn!"

"I felt so much better prepared to start math that fall because I learned so much that summer."

"I didn't know what to expect my first year. And now, I'm obsessed with TEEP! It's just been such an amazing adventure - I'm so impressed with everybody here and how they've grown and matured - it's amazing!"

"We have many field trips in TEEP. One of our field trips was going to the Pierce House in Dorchester. That day, it was raining a lot but that didn't stop us from going there. The ninth graders and the eighth graders were the students who got to go. It was very interesting and fun when we got to the Pierce House. There were people who talked to us about how the archaeologists had dug around the Pierce House to find the artifacts that were left behind by the people who lived there for hundreds of years. There seems to be many artifacts that were found too. There were two activities that I thought were fun. In one, we pretended to be archaeologists and dig for artifacts. The second activity was putting pieces of artifacts together. Most of these pieces turned out to be a kind of pottery. Well, overall this was a good field trip."
Linda, TEEP student

"Kids really respond to older leadership that isn't an adult, and these kids are giving the best example they can possibly give."
Adam Hirsh, TEEP Assistant Director

"Leadership means to lead by example. While I'm empowering the kids, I'm also empowering myself. If I'm not doing the best I can, they won't either. It's helped me deal better with my younger siblings, too! Since being involved in TEEP, I'm a lot more responsible. I've just learned so much. TEEP has given me so much self-confidence - to even be comfortable at Harvard, where everybody is a leader in some part of their lives."
Nadia, TEEP Head Counselor and Harvard student
