Inquirers' Class

The Inquirers' Class explores the fundamentals of the Christian faith and the Anglican tradition. This course is a natural starting point in the lifelong journey of formation and is appropriate for people from a wide range of experiences. Inquirers' Class may be right for you if any of the following describe you and your current place in the journey of faith:

• I want to explore issues of faith, or a spiritual life, or relationship with God.
• I want to explore getting baptized.
• Although already baptized, I want to explore beyond the faith community in which I was baptized and am wondering about becoming part of Trinity's life.
• I have been baptized and confirmed in another tradition, but want to explore becoming an Episcopalian/Anglican.
• I have always been an Episcopalian, but at this point in my life I want to explore deepening my understanding of what it means to be an Episcopalian/Anglican.

The Inquirers' Class explores the fundamentals of the Christian faith and the Anglican tradition. Conversations about each evening's topic begin over a light supper, followed by a presentation by the clergy. A small group discussion guided by two facilitators follows, and each small group remains together throughout the course to deepen opportunities for building community. Each evening ends with Compline (the prayers for the close of the day). Individuals who participate in the Inquirers' Class will find that it can lead to a number of different possible next steps in their journey of faith: further questioning and searching, Baptism (or Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows), Confirmation, or Reception. The Inquirers' Class is also a wonderful class to take for personal enrichment and spiritual nourishment.

The Fall 2007 Inquirers' Class will be held on Wednesday nights from 6–8:30 pm, beginning on September 26 and ending on November 28. There will be a required retreat for all on November 3 and a second retreat on November 24 for those wishing to be confirmed or received.
