Church School
Children's Church School classes (for 3-year-olds through 6th graders) meet in
the Parish House on Sundays. Classes begin at 10:15 a.m. and end at 11:10 a.m. Cherubs
I (3-year-olds) & II (4-year-olds) Preschoolers who are 3 and 4 years
old participate in story, music, and crafts, using the Episcopal curriculum, Let
the Children Come. Godly Play Classes Godly Play is a distinctive
approach to Christian education in the church for children ages 5 to 12. Trinity
has been using this program since 1999. In Godly Play, we attempt to follow the
shape of worship through greeting, preparation, the Word, wonder, response, feasting,
and dismissal. The goal of Godly Play is to teach children the art of using religious
language, parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action, making them aware
of the mystery of God's presence around them and in their lives.
Kindergarten-2nd
Grades Children will begin by hearing sacred stories in the fall, such
as the Creation. In the winter, children will focus on both the Liturgical seasons
(Advent, Christmas, Lent) as well as the guiding Parables. The classes will have
season-specific projects during work time. 3rd-6th Grades At this
age level, the children will begin to hear stories about specific people in the
Bible (Moses, Ruth, Samuel). Liturgical stories will include the prophets and
saints. The use of the parables will lead them to both explore the Bible and work
with the text. These upper elementary classes participate in special outreach
projects such as the Faith Quilts Project and Heifer Project International. For
