We are delighted to announce that Cathy Portlock, presently the Children's Minister at Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford, MA, has answered our call to become Trinity's Director of Children's Ministries. Cathy will begin her work at Trinity in the fourth week of August.

On July 6, more than 100 middle and high school students from Boston Public Schools will be moving into Trinity, spending mornings on math and language arts and afternoons in cultural and enrichment activities (music, art, field trips, etc.). We invite you to get in on the fun.

Each year we add new names to our roster of worship helpers who minister in Sunday services as readers and chalice bearers. We provide ample training and weekly assistance. You provide a desire to minister within the community to widen our welcome each time we gather to pray. There is no prerequisite to apply for these ministries. Young and old, newcomer and continuing member are all welcome to volunteer. We have particular need for more volunteers to help at the 6:00 pm liturgy. Simply contact Eileen McCarthy, worship volunteer coordinator, to let us know of your interest. We'll get back to you with training dates and times.

Play ball! Come join the Trinity Church Co-ed Softball Team! Into its sixth season, once again, Trinity will field two teams and square off against other neighboring churches in the Boston Metro Church Softball League. Games take place on Saturdays from the end of June through September on the Boston Common and other community fields. It's a fun way to get to know your Trinity members better, meet new people, experience fellowship, and release your inner-ballplayer!

Well done Team Trinity and a special thanks to Katherine Hughes for raising more than $22,000 in the Walk for Hunger on May 2! Sunday, May 16 is the last day of Children's Church school classes. All children are invited to the Celebration in the Commons during the 10:00 am hour. Children's Homilies will continue through the summer during the 9:00 am and 11:15 am services.

The Rector has announced that Richard Webster will become the next Director of Music at Trinity Church.

On Monday night, April 26, more than 60 Trinity members witnessed an outpouring of hope and commitment at the Dearborn School in Roxbury. The auditorium overflowed with 380 people as Mayor Thomas Menino, Secretary Timothy Cahill, and Superintendent of Boston Public Schools Carol Johnson pledged support for the school's vision of becoming a state-of-the-art science and technology secondary school. The celebration included parents, teachers, and students, and was supported by Greater Boston Interfaith Organization (GBIO) and school and community leaders, including our rector, the Rev. Anne Bonnyman.

Trinity Public School Partners, working with TEEP (Trinity's urban youth program) and Bostonians for Youth, is building a relational team to help bring about the Dearborn's vision. Come to an organizational meeting with training on Sunday May 23 from 12:30-2:30 pm in the Forum.
