Congratulations, Richard Webster!

Yesterday, at Peterborough Cathedral in England, Richard Webster received the honorary Fellowship of the Royal School of Church Music (FRSCM) award. Richard is among only 15 Americans to receive the FRSCM since the awards began in 1936. Other recipients include Benjamin Britten, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Herbert Howells, Leo Sowerby, Gerre Hancock and Bruce Neswick.

Other 2011 recipients include Rev. Carl Daw, author of many hymns in our hymnals; Rt. Rev. Timothy Dudley-Smith, also a hymn-writer (431, 437/438) and former bishop of Thetford, England; Terrence Duffy, former Director of Music at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral; Dr. Donald Hunt, OBE, former Organist of Worcester Cathedral; and Peter Wright, Organist of Southwark Cathedral.
