Anointing of the Sick

Anointing the sick with oil (Unction), also known as the laying-on-of-hands, is the rite by which God's grace is given for the healing of spirit, body, and mind. Prayer for the sick and the laying-on-of-hands with or without oil is offered by the clergy when they visit the sick.
