Holy Eucharist with Duruflé Requiem
The Choirs of Trinity Church will offer Duruflé’s Requiem during a Eucharist service commemorating All Souls.
Duruflé’s otherworldly Requiem, written in memory of his father and premiered on November 2, 1947, is based entirely on the Gregorian chants from the Mass for the Dead. The French composer and organist was notoriously self-critical and spent much of his life reworking his relatively small, yet highly finessed compositional output. Admission is free; an offering will be collected.
