Stainer's 'Crucifixion'

Date: March 14, 2021
9:30 am to 9:45 am

On most Sundays at 9:30 am, (prior to 9:45 Worship from Home), the music staff will host a Zoom session to introduce a new hymn or canticle that will then be featured in the service.

John Stainer's "The Crucifixion" is a classic in the repertoire of church choirs throughout the English-speaking world. At its heart is the famous chorus, "For God so loved the world." As we prepare for the choir and soloists to offer the entire work on Good Friday, Colin Lynch will tell us about more about Stainer (1840-1901), his life and work.
